About Our School

Webster Elementary is a unique school, designed to enhance the learning opportunities for each student. With funding from the federal government, along with a School Reform Grant, Webster is able to better meet the needs of all students by offering unique programs.

Our school offers an extended school day, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. With the extra time, teachers and students are able to spend more time learning in the classroom.

We’re also excited to offer a “looping” cycle. Looping means a group of students are kept together for two years with the same teacher. This allows students to create strong bonds with the teacher and their classmates.

Our class sizes are some of the smallest in District 622. Our staff is dedicated to use our discretionary funds to keep our class sizes as low as possible.

Webster teachers and staff are dedicated to reaching all students and helping them to learn and grow. We believe each student is the responsiblity of everyone at Webster, not just the classroom teacher. Our staff is highly trained, caring and dedicated.

  • Nearly 70 percent of our teachers have, or are currently working to receive, a master’s degree;
  • Time is built into the school day for teachers to collaborate with their colleagues to plan lessons that reach all students;

  • Nearly all of Webster’s teachers are trained in Responsive Classroom, a social curriculum that helps students feel a sense of belonging, safety and fun.

During the Spring of 2003, Webster received a Comprehensive School Reform Grant, which provides money for staff development. Teachers are being trained to reach diverse student populations, increase community involvement and improve student learning.
